Our story begins in Chefchaouen
Between close-set houses and the Rif mountains, we begin with the city that gives our restaurant its name. This journey moves from the wide view to the detail of a doorway, meeting a lived-in city beyond its photographs.

A city held by mountains
The photograph, taken from Chefchaouen’s kasbah, shows houses gathering beneath the mountain. Roofs and walls fill the middle distance; palms in the foreground give the eye a sense of scale. Blue is present, but it is not the only color here. White, earth tones, foliage and shadow share the view.
Chefchaouen sits in the Rif mountains of northern Morocco. That setting connects the city with a wider landscape of villages, paths and everyday work. Reading the photograph from foreground to horizon is a gentle way to begin: first the leaves, then the homes, then the mountain. The landscape becomes more than a backdrop.

Our restaurant carries Chefchaouen’s name in Yiwu. This is our connection to the city; it does not mean that every dish on the menu originated there, or that every image on our walls depicts it. We begin here because a journey is easier to follow when it has a welcoming first door.
Follow the kasbah to explore the city’s historical beginning, the alleys to notice small details, or Ras El Maa to move toward the water. At the table, the journey becomes an invitation to share time together. There is no need to read everything at once. Choose one story, then return for another.
